Lackluster Single Player

I've tried twice now, giving this game a chance. I thought it looked cool, and always looking for new survival games to scratch the itch.
As a single player experience, i'm not stoked on it. Seems like people mostly like playing it to build big structures, designing castles and villages etc. I'm not that type of player, i'm looking for intensity on combat and immersion mostly, also the whole survival part.
Sure you have to eat food occasionally so you don't start starving, which nukes your healthbar rather quickly, but thats about it.
Movement and combat in general feels weightless, you just kinda hop and float around, cheese enemies, or get swarmed and killed in a couple hits - leading to lots of annoying runs back to your body to try and recover gear. This is typical for survival games, but I don't like the game enough to bother with it. After losing all my weapons and shit recently after giving the game another chance, I couldn't be bothered to spend the time going to recover it. I don't feel very accomplished or rewarded when playing it. It's not particularly challenging, just annoying.
Graphics are ok, but not to my preference, too cartoony. Runs well enough. There just isn't enough intensity on the survival aspect and the combat is not very fun for me. Exploration doesn't excite me either.
There's some story element, with quests and npc's you have to run around and collect, but I can't get into the game enough to care.
Seems like other people like the game more than I do, for various reasons. Developers seem good and attentive to communities wishes, It's just not the game for me.
